What is Long Term Investment and its Horizon ?
Long Term Investment is investment in Capital Markets, we need to stay invested in particular Equity, Mutual Fund for longer period term for Better returns and outcome.
The time Horizon for Long term investment should be generally 5 years of more.
Which Stock to invest in for Long Term ?
For Long term Investment one should always choose the better Stock or Mutual Fund of the Industry, which has good business, brand Value in the market.
If the Company does not has any reputed brand value, atleast it should have Good Fundamentals to start investing.
What if value of my investment goes down ?
Generally for Equity Long term investment, indices have a 7 year cycle. So, it needs to be averaged whenever value of investment goes down.
My suggestion to my clients are to average your long term investment at every 25 % dips only, from the last buying price, if you have invested in Lumpsum.
Any stocks that have bad management vows or extreme bad news should simply be exited.
